Karen Jackson -Pitching Instructor
Karen played at Roseville HS and the California Breeze and has 19 years of coaching experience including coaching Division I at the University of Iowa (2 years), The University of Louisville (5 years), and teaching in the private sector in camps, clinics, lessons (15 years) and as the Director of Fastpitch at Champions Sports Complex (2 years). Jackson has been heavily involved in running clinics and teaching private pitching lessons to students ranging in age from eight years on up. In 1997, she played in the inaugural season of the Women's Professional Fastpitch League on the Carolina Diamonds team, where she played from 1997-99.
An outstanding player for the Hawkeyes from 1990-94, she was a three-time NFCA All-American (1991, 1993, 1994). Named both Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year in 1991, she also earned Big Ten Player of the Year in 1994. She is the all-time career leader in season and career ERA, and season shutouts. She is ranked in innings pitched, complete games, wins, games pitched, shutouts, and strikeouts. A two-time team MVP and All-Mideast Region selection, she stayed on as the pitching coach for the Hawkeyes from 1994-96, helping Iowa to a College World Series appearance. Christa Hunter -Pitching Instructor
She played 4 years at West Campus HS, 8 years with the California Breeze were she played in 6 A.S.A. National Championships. She attended 4 years at University of Pittsburgh were she played in the Big East Playoffs and helped bring this program to the forefront in their conference.. Rod Rubalcava - Catching Fundamentals & Advanced Techniques
Rod played at Sacramento City and Cosumnes River Colleges and he has 5 yrs experience in the National Amateur Baseball Association. In 2005-06 had the opportunity to work with the development of catchers, 14u through 18u with Daryl Brown (Arizona Diamondbacks pro scout) and Bam Morris (Tampa Bay Rays pro scout.) Total Performance (12-18) Ages 12 through 18 are the ideal ages for developing speed, strength and power over an athlete's entire lifetime. This program was developed using cutting-edge techniques to produce maximum improvement in athletic performance. Group 1 - Athletes placed in this group are able to perform the basic requirements of our program and are at the beginning level of speed training.Group 2 - Athletes placed in this group have had formal training and are ready for a more intense level of training using advanced speed and agility equipment. *Increase Speed *Improve Agility *Increase Running Strength *Develop Endurance *Maximize Jumping Ability *Boost Confidence Peak Performance (14-18)
The goal of the BATSl staff is to prepare the athletes for the physical and mental demands of their sport. Studies have showed that physically increasing and athlete’s strength improves speed, and durability, and decreases the risk of injury. Our strength training program focuses on the use of free weight multi-joint exercises. Olympic Weightlifting and plyometric movements work on a variety of explosive movements. Speed, quickness, and agility drills help to transfer the gained strength and power to the athletic playing field. In addition, just as athletics places mental demands on the athlete, training focuses on the development of mental toughness. Athletes are taught to train through their comfort zone and work to achieve high performance goals. Mandi Salcido - Hitting & Defensive Fundamentals
A native of Sacramento, Mandi played 4 years of varsity at El Camino high school. 10 years with the California Breeze winning the ASA 18U National Championships in 1999. She played at Sacramento City College, winning the State Championships title in 2004. Upon transferring and receiving a scholarship, Mandi finished her career as a captain of the Aggie softball team at the University of California Davis. After receiving her degree in Sociology when she graduated in spring of 2007, she joined the Aggie coaching staff that next fall. Following that season, Mandi returned home where she has coached the last three years with the Sacramento City College panthers. During her final years of playing and while she pursued coaching, Mandi was an instructor in offensive and defensive clinics for UC Davis and Princeton University. Her passion is to motivate and mentor young minds while teaching them how to be a “student” of the game.

Vicky Rios - Hitting & Defensive Fundamentals
She played 4 years at West Campus HS, 3 years for the California Breeze.Played at Sac City College in 1991 and 1992. Rios was the MVP and an All-State Selection on the Panther softball team that won the Camino Norte Conference Championship and finished in 3rd place at the State Championships. In 1992, she was team captain of the State and National Championship team, and was named to both the All-Conference and All-State team. She transferred to Cal State Northridge in 1993, where she earned All-WAC Honorable Mention honors, helping her team win the conference title and reach the Final Eight in the Women's College World Series. In 1994, she capped off her career by leading her team to another WAC Championship and the Finals of the College World Series. Rios was once again named WAC Honorable Mention and received the Most Inspirational and Outstanding Defense Awards. She started her coaching career as Head Coach at San Clara University, then moved to San Jose State as an Assistant Coach. She coached 5 years as CO-Head Coach at University of California @ Riverside, and.Vicky is in her 2nd year as Asst. Coach at Sacramento City College. Click Here For Vicky’s Bio
